I’m sorry everyone, I’m simply snowed under at the moment. I didn’t get the time over the weekend to draw the comic and today I’ve literally had no time to sit down and draw anything more than this quick sketch. I’m hopeful that I’ll have more time once the various personal issues (that have all landed on me at once) are sorted out. Until then, stay tuned and apologies once more!
This comic is a week late, for which I apologise. I had planned to draw it once I got back from work on Monday 04 February because I didn’t have time to do it over the weekend, as I usually do, thanks to being away visiting family. Unfortunately I was taken into hospital on Monday and spent a lot of the week there. Don’t worry though, I’m fine and hopefully there won’t be any more visits to casualty in the near future. Anyway, since the comic was delayed so long I decided to put it up the following Monday instead of trying to do two episodes almost back-to-back.
Regular visitors to the site will have noticed several days of ‘outage’ this week. These were not my fault, they were the result of idiots using basic wannabee hacker tools to bypass the site’s security, in the vain hope of being able to add redirect code to the index.php file. It seems that instead of pointing to the correct portion of code that runs this website, they wanted you to be redirected to their own website, where they would undoubtedly be selling something both stupid and illegal. Suffice to say they sucked at coding almost as much as they suck at life in general, so all they managed to do was render the site unusable until I got out of hospital and fixed it.
Over the next few days I’ll be undertaking several security increases to prevent these idiots from being able to deprive you of your enjoyment of the comic. Until then, stay vigilant! 🙂
There’s not a lot to say about this week’s comic. It’s another one of those four-panel jobs but I’ve tried to keep it from being a simple “four squares layout” episode. I’m pleased with the amount of background detail in the first panel – it seems like there’s a lot going on, and you can see the ever-present mountains that make up the majority of the landscape in the Nob Mouse universe. Overall, there may be little going on this week but I’d like to think I’ve demonstrated that lack of eventfulness reasonably well.
The artwork on this episode isn’t as good as I had hoped, especially for an episode introducing a new character. However, I had an accident a couple of days ago that has left me bruised from my fingers to my elbow. Consequently it’s a little difficult to draw the episode but I didn’t want to fall behind again so soon into the year so I did what I could with the episode.
Although it’s rather late, I’m rather proud of this episode. It’s a rather technical page, having a lot of little fiddly effects in it such as: multiple overlaid panels; portions of drawings extending out of the panels they’re from and so forth. I had a lot of fun drawing it.
This is also somewhat of a milestone for The Life of Nob T. Mouse as it is the first story to be completed in Series Two. Whether that is of interest to anyone but me is a point of contention but hey, I’m happy. 🙂
