It’s not often that I attempt a continuous story in the Series Three style. In fact, the only other time I’ve done this was A Trip Down Memory Lane which, let’s admit it, was not my finest hour. Today’s comic is a continuation of sorts from Friday’s Still Life. This was not intended at the time, it’s just that while chatting, Jenny and I came up with the idea that Wilf might take quite a long time to decide on his favourite food. This lead, as these things do, to us contemplating the effect of him taking a really long time to decide, and the script pretty much wrote itself. It therefore becomes the second serial story for Series Three, by accident.
This is the twentieth strip in Series Three, which seems pretty cool in my mind. The odd thing is, however, that I’ve still not managed to produce as many Series Three strips as there were episodes in Pie Noon. It is going to take some time to match the length of that behemoth; which occupied my comic-drawing time for over a year, thanks to so many delays in the scriptwriting process meaning it took much longer than planned to actually complete. Still, it’s over now and I’m happy with the result.
