The case of the missing signal

It feels like ages since I wrote a single-page Nob Mouse story in the Series Two style so I decided now was a good time to write one.  I sometimes feel like I’m treading water with these comics, doing sequels of sorts to older tales, but Jenny assures me that this isn’t the case.  I’m not entirely convinced but when you’ve got an established cast and a set of established settings, having those characters and settings return in later comics is almost inevitable so maybe she’s right.

It’s interesting to note that this constitutes the first Nob Mouse story that I can think of which doesn’t actually feature Nob T. Mouse.  I’m sure there will be more in the future that don’t have him taking an active role in proceedings but this is noteworthy as the first story in which it happens.  He’s not featured in particular episodes before – the first episode of The Trouble With A Quantum Santa is a fine example of this – but a Nob Mouse story without Nob Mouse in it seemed too strange to be possible, until now.

I’ve mentioned in my blog that writing these stories is getting a little difficult because the series eats through storylines very quickly.  I’m not intending to reduce the frequency of updates however, as I’m sure the feeling will pass.  It’s just something I thought was worth noting at this juncture as it ties in with my feelings about re-treading old ground.  Hopefully this feeling will pass and I’ll get back to enjoying writing the stories as much as I hope you enjoy reading them.
